Seoul Botanic Park

📍 Seoul

A large botanical garden opened in 2018 in Seoul's Magok district, with a glass-dome conservatory collecting plants from twelve world cities as its main draw. Set in western Seoul, it is conveniently close to Gimpo Airport.

The conservatory houses plants across twelve climate zones — tropical, Mediterranean, desert, subtropical — while outdoor gardens including a lake garden, wetland garden, and walking trails are free and open around the clock. The architecture itself is modern, making it a popular photo spot.

Honest tips: the conservatory is paid (5,000 won for adults) and closed Mondays — the outdoor gardens alone are free at any time. It is on the far side of Seoul from downtown, so using Magongnaru station is fastest, and it makes a good stop during a Gimpo Airport layover. A half-day is enough, and weekends bring family crowds.

ℹ️ Travel infoGreenhouse 09:30-18:00 (until 19:00 in summer), closed Mondays, greenhouse admission ₩5,000. Outdoor gardens free, open 24 hours. Magongnaru Station (Line 9) Exit 3, 5-min walk.
📸 Best photo spotFraming the glass-dome greenhouse from across the lake is the signature shot; the tropical-plant corridor inside makes an exotic backdrop too.
