Seosullo-gil

Seosullo-gil runs from 150-3 Jongno to 26 Gwonnong-dong, following the old route once walked by patrol guards protecting Jongmyo Shrine during the Joseon dynasty. It takes its name — meaning "west patrol road" — from lying west of the patrol station that once guarded the shrine.

Today it connects closely to popular traditional destinations like Ikseon-dong, Insadong, Bukchon, and Samcheong-dong, and the path itself is lined with restaurants, cafes, and craft studios, making it a genuinely enjoyable walk. Strolling alongside Jongmyo's old stone wall, the path's former role as a Joseon-era patrol route and its present life as a walking trail naturally overlap.

When flowers bloom in spring or leaves turn in autumn, the scenery against the stone wall becomes especially beautiful, making it a favorite for dates and family outings. With plenty of photogenic spots along the way, it's a great walk to add on right after visiting Jongmyo Shrine.
