National Palace Museum of Korea
📍 SeoulSitting just beside Gwanghwamun, on the south side of Gyeongbokgung, the National Palace Museum of Korea is dedicated entirely to artifacts left behind by the Joseon royal court and the Korean Empire. Its roughly 40,000-piece collection ranges from royal seals, court costumes, and palace paintings to scientific instruments like the Jagyeongnu water clock — 14 of the objects are designated National Treasures.
You don't need a Gyeongbokgung ticket to get in, so it's an easy stop even if you've already toured the palace or are short on time.
Entry is free, and the museum stays open until 9 PM on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
