Remembrance of Comfort Women

Remembrance of Comfort Women is a memorial space on Mt. Namsan in Yejang-dong, Jung-gu, Seoul, honoring the halmoni who survived as victims of Japanese military sexual slavery. It opened in 2016.

The memorial is built around the victims' testimonies, records of their suffering, and documentation of wartime atrocities, carrying a broader message about human rights and peace. A Namsan trail connects it to the nearby Statue of Peace for Japanese Military Comfort Women ("Solidarity for Justice"), so visitors can walk between the two sites.

A standing guided-tour program is available, letting visitors deepen their understanding of the comfort women issue alongside trained instructors, with age-appropriate activities and conversations about human rights and peace.
