Jeonpo Cafe Street

Jeonpo Cafe Street was once an industrial pocket of aging furniture workshops and print shops. Over time, one distinctive cafe and boutique shop after another moved in, reshaping it into what it is today.

When The New York Times named Busan to its "52 Places to Go in 2017" list — the only South Korean city featured that year — it specifically highlighted the Jeonpo cafe district as an example of a once-gritty industrial area reinvented as a design and cafe hub.

Many cafes occupy renovated older buildings; one notable example, Brown Hands Cafe, opened in 2016 inside a converted 1920s-era hospital building. An annual street festival is held here every October.
