Igidae Park

A coastal trail that follows the sea along jagged rock cliffs — this is Igidae Park.

Its name comes from a legend of two gisaeng who leapt into the sea embracing a Japanese general during the 1592 invasion. It was long a restricted military zone and only opened to the public in 1993, which is why its coastline remains largely undeveloped.

Walking the trail, you pass wave-carved rock formations and a pebble beach, alternating with viewpoints that open onto Gwangan Bridge and the Haeundae skyline — one of Busan's most loved coastal walks.

Honestly, though, the full round trip is 4-5km with stairs and inclines mixed in, so proper shoes matter, and there's little shade, so summer afternoons get quite hot.

If the full route feels like too much, walking just as far as Dongsaengmal Observatory and back still delivers the signature view, and it's especially rewarding at dusk when Gwangan Bridge lights up.

It's open at all times with no set hours, admission is free, and parking is available.
