Haeundae Greenway

Haeundae Greenway

📍 Busan

When the old Donghae South Line was decommissioned in 2013, the city of Busan redeveloped the rail bed into a coastal walking trail. It runs 4.8km total from Haeundae's Mipo through Cheongsapo to Songjeong, walkable in either direction — and a one-way walk alone is well worth it.

Above the trail, a paid tourist train and Sky Capsule (Haeundae Blueline Park) run on the same old rail line — but these are separate facilities. The Sky Capsule requires its own ticket, while this Greenway trail below is a free ground-level walk.

The scenery shifts depending on which direction you walk. Heading from Songjeong toward Mipo, Gwangan Bridge and Dalmaji Hill come into view straight ahead; walking the other way, the Cheongsapo lighthouse and an open horizon dominate.

The whole route runs along shadeless coastal cliffs, so it's best to avoid summer midday — but there are benches and viewing decks scattered along the way to rest. Near Cheongsapo, you'll also pass a row of tented seafood stalls.

Open anytime, free, no closed days.

📸 Best photo spotNear the Mipo starting point, shoot along the curving coastline trail for a nice sense of depth. Catching a passing Sky Capsule in the frame adds a nice accent.
