Gwangan Bridge

The symbol lighting up Busan's nights — this is Gwangan Bridge.

Stretching 7.4 km across the sea to connect Suyeong-gu and Haeundae-gu, it's Korea's largest double-deck sea bridge. Beyond its function as a bridge, the view from its upper deck is a landmark in its own right, taking in the open sea, Oryukdo Islands, Hwangnyeongsan, Haeundae's Dongbaekseom, and Dalmaji Hill all at once.

What truly made Gwangan Bridge a Busan icon is its state-of-the-art light show. Colors and patterns shift by day and season, washing the entire bridge in light — and the view from Gwangalli Beach, with the sand, the bridge, and the Haeundae skyline all in one frame, is widely regarded as one of Busan's signature night views.

By day it shows off its grand scale as a sea bridge; by night, a romantic light display — worth a visit regardless of when you go.

The bridge itself is for vehicles only and can't be crossed on foot, but it can be leisurely enjoyed from nearby promenades like Gwangalli Beach or Millak Waterside Park.
