Dadaepo Dream of Sunset Fountain

Dadaepo Dream of Sunset Fountain

📍 Busan

Opened in 2010, Dadaepo Dream of Sunset Fountain is one of the world's largest musical fountains — a circular basin 60m across and 180m around, covering 2,538㎡ of floor area. Jets shoot up to 55m, choreographed to music and lighting, in a genuinely striking show.

Dadaepo sits where the Nakdong River meets the sea, a spot famous for its sunsets — and that's literally where the fountain gets its name ("dream of sunset"). When the show times line up with sunset, watching the fountain and the glowing sky together is the main draw.

One thing worth knowing: it doesn't run year-round. It operates only from April through October and shuts down entirely in winter. Even within that season, spring and autumn have one evening show on weekdays (7:30–7:50pm or 8:00–8:20pm) and two on weekends, while summer adds a separate daytime "water play fountain" session where kids can run through the water directly.

It's closed every Monday, and the exact schedule shifts slightly by season, so check before you go. The fountain itself is free to watch, and since it's right next to Dadaepo Beach, it pairs naturally with a swim or a sunset walk.

ℹ️ Travel infoRuns April–October only (closed in winter), closed every Monday. Showtimes vary by season (spring/autumn: 1 weekday evening show, 2 on weekends; summer adds a daytime water-play session). Free to watch. Inquiries: 051-220-5897.
📸 Best photo spotPosition yourself just before the show starts, with the sunset-colored sky as backdrop, to catch the moment the water jets burst upward against the glow.
