Starfield Library opened in 2017 as part of COEX Mall's renovation, built around three towering bookshelves reaching 13m high. It holds roughly 50,000 books and magazines, though the volumes on the topmost shelves — unreachable without a ladder — are mostly there for show.
Honest heads-up: this is really more of a landmark photo spot for the mall than a quiet reading space. It sits in the open middle of a busy shopping center, so it's noisy, and seating is almost always full. Books can only be browsed on-site, not checked out like a real library.
Local tip: free cultural events like author talks and book concerts happen here regularly — check Starfield Library's official channels before visiting, since you might get lucky and catch one. The classic photo is shot from the front staircase to capture the full bookshelf wall; weekday mornings are the quietest time to visit.
Free admission, hours 10:30-22:00, open every day. Connected directly to COEX Mall from Samseong Station Exits 5-6 (Line 2) or Bongeunsa Station (Line 9).
