Busan Museum of Art

📍 Busan

A large museum in Haeundae's Centum City district — this is Busan Museum of Art.

Opened to broaden public engagement with art and support creative activity, it has grown into one of Busan's largest public museums, with 13 exhibition halls and a 160-seat auditorium across two basement levels and three above ground. Its exhibition halls use a retractable structure that flexibly reshapes the space to suit each show.

It serves as a main venue for the Busan Biennale held in even-numbered years, and hosts special exhibitions, collection shows, and international art exhibitions year-round, giving citizens regular access to art.

Around the building, an outdoor sculpture park scatters large works across the grounds — a plus even if you're just passing through without going inside.

Honestly, though, given its strong permanent-collection character, there may not always be a standout special exhibition depending on when you visit, so checking what's currently on before you go is worthwhile.

Being inside Centum City makes it easy to pair with the nearby Busan Cinema Center and APEC Naru Park; hours are 10:00-18:00 (last entry 17:30), closed Mondays, and the permanent collection is free.
