Sukjeongmun, built in 1396, is the north gate of the Four Great Gates of the Hanyangdoseong city wall. Unlike the other gates, it was traditionally kept shut most of the time and opened only on special occasions — as a result, it went the longest without a wooden gate tower of any of the four; the pavilion you see today was rebuilt in 1976.
It sits along the city wall hiking trail on the slopes of Bugaksan, so you'll come across it naturally while walking the route. The surrounding pine forest gives it a mountain-hike feel despite being inside the city.
Closed Mondays (Tuesdays if Monday is a holiday); open 9 AM-6 PM in summer (Mar-Oct), 10 AM-5 PM in winter (Nov-Feb).
