Seoul Forest

Seoul Forest

📍 Seoul

A large downtown park opened in 2005 and modeled on New York's Central Park, set between the Han River and Jungnangcheon in Seongsu-dong. Four main themed zones — Ecological Forest, Natural Grassland, Culture & Arts Park, and Experiential Learning — divide the grounds, with the deer enclosure the most popular.

Within the park sit an insect botanical garden, a butterfly house, and an art museum, and a bike path links to the Han River for long rides toward Banpo or Jamsil. With the adjacent Seongsu-dong cafe strip and Ikseon-dong it forms a popular route for younger crowds.

Honest tips: the deer enclosure opens only 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a feeding experience — check times ahead. Weekend afternoons get crowded with family picnics, and bike rentals cluster near the entrance. Pairing with Seongsu-dong cafes makes a full day, and spring and autumn are the most pleasant. Five minutes from Seoul Forest station and close to Seongsu station.

ℹ️ Travel infoOpen 24 hours, free. Deer enclosure viewing 10:00-16:00. Seoul Forest Station (Suin-Bundang Line) Exit 3, 5-min walk.
📸 Best photo spotThe classic shot is with the deer at the enclosure; in autumn the metasequoia tree-lined path is famous for photos.
