Seoul Central Mosque

Seoul Central Mosque, built in 1976 with support from Saudi Arabia and other Muslim-majority countries, is Korea's first and largest mosque. It sits on a hillside in Itaewon, its green dome and minaret visible from a distance.

Non-Muslim visitors are welcome to look around respectfully — it's best to avoid prayer times and to dress modestly. Shoes must be removed before entering.

The streets around the mosque form Itaewon's so-called 'Islamic quarter,' lined with halal restaurants and grocery stores — worth exploring together for the full atmosphere.
