Setagayakuritsu Park

Setagayakuritsu Park

📍 Tokyo

A nature-rich park nine minutes' walk from Futako-tamagawa Station, framed by the greenery of the Kokubunji escarpment and the Tama riverside. It holds the first full-scale Japanese garden in any Setagaya ward park, part of which incorporates the restored 'Former Shimizu Family Residence Shoin,' a Registered Tangible Cultural Property. The 'Setagaya Forest of Life,' where some 1,400 saplings planted with residents are growing, and a children's plaza for ball games make it well suited to family outings. It gets excellent sunlight, and from the observation plaza you can see the Tanzawa mountains and even Mount Fuji.

📸 Best photo spotOpen lawns or spots near the pond make good backdrops — even better during flowering season.
