Expanded and remodeled from the late Taisho into the early Showa era, Yamamoto-tei is a leading example of Tokyo's modern Japanese-style architecture, with plenty to admire — including an elegant shoin garden arranged around a pond and artificial hill. Tea service is available for a fee, making it an ideal rest stop while strolling Shibamata.
