Cheongsapo Train Trail

Below Haeundae's Dalmaji-gil hill, the old Donghae South Line railway once ran alongside Cheongsapo, a small harbor known for its clear water. The line was decommissioned in 2013, and the right-of-way became a walking trail.

The harbor's name comes from a local legend: a wife waited so long for her seafaring husband to return that she turned into a pine tree. Walking the trail today, you'll find stretches where the original railway sleepers remain, and others where wooden decking has been laid over the rails — traces of the old line are visible throughout.

Overhead, you'll see Sky Capsules from the paid, separate Haeundae Blueline Park gliding by — but this trail itself, running along the ground below, is free. That distinction trips people up sometimes, so worth noting: riding a Sky Capsule requires its own separate ticket.

The trail is part of the longer Haeundae Greenway that runs from Mipo through Cheongsapo to Songjeong. You can walk it one-way or round-trip. There's not much shade, so mornings, evenings, or overcast days are more comfortable than a summer midday.
